Strange "Send from" issues??
We have about 1000 user mailboxes on an Exchange 2007 W2K8 server. Some users have permissions to other mailboxes to read mail and send from that account (or send as). Recently all of a sudden, I am seeing problems where we can't send as anymore. Not send on behalf of, but entering the account in the From field and sending the email. I've given the account Full mailbox access and still gets denied error message when they try to send. They can still read mail from these mailboxes. Thanks in advance! Tony

Oh yeah, the exact error message is "You do not have the permission to send the message on behalf of the specified user"

Send As is a right conferred on the user object, not in the mailbox rights. Full Mailbox Rights does not include Send As. The same cmdlet in Exchange 2007 does both, though. Add-MailboxPermission -Identity <Mailbox> -User <User_Granted_Rights> -AccessRights SendAs http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124097(EXCHG.80).aspx On Thu, 5 Aug 2010 17:22:00 +0000, AJ1100 wrote: >Oh yeah, the exact error message is "You do not have the permission to send the message on behalf of the specified user" Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

One more thing--if the user has been granted Send On Behalf Of, revoke that so that there is no confusion about what the From field should do for them.
